Makonde Carved Wood Sculpture
£45.00
Details & condition
A tall carved wooden sculpture in the Makonde tradition, worked from a single piece of dense hardwood. The polished facial features contrast with areas of deliberately retained natural surface at the top and base.
The interplay of dark heartwood and paler sapwood gives the carving considerable depth and emphasises its vertical form.
Dimensions: 32 cm high.
Condition: Good vintage condition with an established surface and natural variations in the timber.
