Terms of Service

Overview

This website is operated by Forth and Found Vintiques, trading as Forth & Found. Throughout the site, the terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Forth & Found.

By visiting our website or purchasing from us, you agree to these Terms of Service. These terms should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy and Returns & Refunds Policy.

Vintage and antique goods

Forth & Found specialises in vintage, antique and pre-owned pieces. By their nature, these items may show signs of age and previous use, including wear, patina, marks, variations, minor imperfections and historic repairs.

These characteristics are often part of an item’s history and character and do not necessarily constitute faults.

We make every reasonable effort to describe and photograph each item accurately and to identify significant damage, repairs or imperfections of which we are aware. Colours and appearance may vary slightly according to lighting, photography and the screen on which an item is viewed.

Dimensions are approximate unless otherwise stated.

Descriptions and attribution

Information regarding the age, maker, origin, material or attribution of an item is provided in good faith and based on the information available to us at the time of listing.

Where an attribution is uncertain, we aim to make this clear in the description. References such as “attributed to”, “in the style of”, “possibly” or similar wording should not be interpreted as a definitive attribution.

One-of-a-kind items and availability

Many of the pieces offered by Forth & Found are individual or one-of-a-kind items and may also be offered for sale through other channels.

Although we make every effort to keep stock information accurate, occasionally an item may become unavailable before our online inventory has been updated.

Your order is subject to acceptance and availability. If an item you have ordered is no longer available, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible and issue a full refund of any payment made for that item.

Orders

When you place an order, you are offering to purchase the goods shown in your order.

An automated order confirmation acknowledges that we have received your order but does not necessarily mean that it has been accepted. A contract is formed when we send confirmation that the order has been dispatched.

We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order where there is a legitimate reason to do so, including an obvious pricing or listing error, suspected fraudulent activity, inability to fulfil the order, or where an item is no longer available.

If payment has already been taken for an order that we cannot fulfil, the appropriate amount will be refunded to your original payment method.

Prices and payment

All prices are displayed in pounds sterling (£) unless otherwise stated.

The price payable is the price displayed at checkout at the time your order is placed, together with any applicable delivery charges.

Payment must be successfully authorised before an order can be processed.

We take reasonable care to ensure prices are correct. If an obvious pricing error is discovered after an order has been placed, we will contact you before fulfilling the order and give you the opportunity to purchase at the correct price or cancel the order for a full refund.

Delivery

Delivery charges, estimated delivery times and other information about dispatch are set out in our Shipping Policy.

Because many of our items are fragile, unusually shaped or unique, they are individually packed with appropriate care.

Delivery estimates are provided in good faith but are not guaranteed where delays arise from circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Returns, cancellations and refunds

Your rights to cancel an online order and return goods are explained in our Returns & Refunds Policy.

Nothing in these Terms of Service or our other policies is intended to restrict or exclude any rights you have under applicable UK consumer law.

Damaged or incorrectly described goods

If an item arrives damaged, faulty or materially different from its description, please contact us at hello@forthandfoundvintiques.co.uk as soon as possible.

Where possible, please retain the item and its packaging and provide photographs to help us understand what has happened and, where relevant, make a claim with the delivery provider.

This does not affect your statutory rights.

Website content

All photographs, written descriptions, branding and other original content appearing on this website belong to Forth & Found or are used with appropriate permission.

They may not be reproduced or used for commercial purposes without prior permission.

Third-party services

Our online store is hosted by Shopify. Certain parts of the website, including payments and other services, may be provided by Shopify or other third-party service providers.

Your use of those services may also be subject to the relevant provider’s terms and privacy practices.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.

We are not responsible for losses that could not reasonably have been foreseen when the contract was formed, or for losses arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service occasionally to reflect changes to our business, website, services or applicable requirements.

The version published on this website at the time you place an order will apply to that purchase.

Governing law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may also benefit from any mandatory consumer protections applicable where you live.
